Miette's new Eyes and Wig, Same for Aloe Vera

The truck is still being repaired.  This is the second day we are sitting here, which is fabulous in some ways, but we have to be ready to go at a moment's notice.  All our things are packed and by the door.  So I am sitting with my companions, attending to their needs and trying to put together some fabrics and lace to hand sew.

I decided to fix Miette's miss set eyes.  I discovered that another pair of eyes I had fit her so much better.  They are smaller and make her eyes appear brighter and more alert.  Since I had her wig off, I played with other wigs.  The human hair one that I had was perfect for her, suiting her much better than it did for Olwen.  I washed and conditioned it, then sew in a few tucks and now it fits.  I got out the baby brush and can brush it so nicely.  Since the colour is a peachy blonde, it actually suits her eyebrow colour better too.  The other wig had charm, but I could not brush it, it was wool.

I then made a travel basket for her, as it was decided that Audrey and Zoelina wanted to stay with the other children, and Miette loves to travel.

I put a wicker chair with cushions, her pot belly stove and a writing desk in her basket, tying them to the sides with ribbon.

Here are a few more of her new wig:

Then I decided to try Miette's old eyes on Aloe Vera who has been the most difficult to find eyes for.  They worked!  And so did a new wig I had originally bought for Hammie.  What I love about it is that is lets her ears show and gives her such a little Pixie look.

This has been a lot of fun for me today, but I sure wish I could stay in the apartment and just play....there is so much I want to do!

Settling In with my Companions

We were suppose to be on the truck early this morning, but the truck has not been finished in the repair shop, so we have one extra day!

Because of the extra day, husband went up to my parents and picked up the rest of the stuff we had there, which was nice that we could have everything cleared away from our stay there, but left me with more stuff to unpack.  It will all have to wait until the next home-time.  Thrilling moments here and there as I re-discovered many dolly things I had not seen in a year.

Right now, I am just so happy to have a dolly room again.  Here are some random photo's of my companions.

Lucy received a new body.  Not a match in skin tone, but she needed a jointed body to keep up with Frank.

Much, much better!

I found the bar and soon I can create their world.

Lizzy and new baby

Miette taking a rest in her room.

Evie who is enchanting me all over again.

These eyes change colour all the time.  Lavender gray I would say.

While photo's of Evan give him a pink tone, he is dreadfully yellow.

I think Evan needs something more.  He will get another wig and perhaps eyes.  Not sure what I will do.

Miette's trunk room

I had hoped that Miette and Lizzy would be in scale with each other, but other than height, there is nothing that ties them together,  Lizzy is a pin head next to Miette.  Sigh.

And baby Emily is back in my care.  I held her for quite some time today.

The painting on the wall is one that I found in a thrift shop years ago.  I just love it.  So odd and different.  I think of her as a ghost child.

Family Relocation and Reunion

The Nisse children have moved into a new home recently.  They were well taken care of by Evie and Evan.  After everyone was settled and chairs unpacked for all, life just seemed to fall into place:

Hammie wants to stay with Evan and build a robot.  Pandora would much rather play in the swinging chair and Olwen refuses to do anything but read.  Audrey and Zoelina will be taking a turn on the truck for the next five weeks.  They have packed their clothes and toys.  I wonder what adventures in playing they will come up with?

Complete Happiness

Pure Joy.  I have a doll room again!  I had bought a bag of vintage clothing on eBay and what a wonderful selection it was.  I have lots of vintage clothing for the children, for Aloe Vera, for baby Emily and even Miette received two lovely jackets.  More photo's later.

Evie received a vintage fashion doll.  Hamlet received a pirate toy.

She is quite detailed and has eyelashes!

Olwen received a vintage red hat.

Zoelina received a vintage blue dress.

Audrey received a vintage summer dress.

Lucy received several vintage clothing items, including this fully lined dress.

Lizzy received a new baby.  Charlotte received a new dress.

Baby Henry

Pandora was rocked to sleep.

Miette is decorating her trunk room.

Of all the moments of joy in my new doll room, the one that really made me feel so good was seeing my Evie as sweet as she use to be:
